The Ratliff family, Greener Pastures Ranch, and the Sin Par stable name have a long and distinguished history within the Paso Fino breed. In 1967, while living in Ft Lauderdale, FL, Henrietta Ratliff was introduced to these magnificent horses while the family owned, bred, and trained Quarter Horses. Since then, the ranch has moved to the panhandle of Florida, southeast of Tallahassee, and the Ratliff family has been nationally recognized for their work with the breed and with the Paso Fino Horse Association. Greener Pastures Ranch offers something for everyone looking to enjoy the Paso Fino horse. Robin Ratliff is a professional Paso Fino trainer and has been since 1973. She has been recognized as the PFHA Trainer of the Year as well as a USEF Equestrian of Honor. Henrietta Ratliff has been breeding and riding Pasos since the mid-60’s having one of the longest standing breeding programs in the US. In 2003, Henrietta was inducted to the PFHA Hall of Fame – two years after their stallion, El Pastor, was inducted in 2001. El Pastor was the first Paso Fino stallion the family owned purchasing him from auction in 1967. He was well worth the money, time, and energy. At the time of his death in 2000 at the age of 37, very few Paso Fino stallions had the recognition Pastor had. He was named a PFHA Foundation Sire, was a 20 time Top Ten Stallion, was the horse used for the Breyer model mold of the Paso Fino, and was inducted into the PFHA Hall of Fame. When making the decision to purchase, breed, board, or enter a Paso Fino in training, call the experts first!
